I saw Culadasa’s tweet yesterday “Holding feelings of joy, tranquility, and equanimity in peripheral awareness while meditating will help you avoid “dark nights of the soul.”
    It really hit home.

For months my sits have been hard to get through. So in my Opa’s typical german farmer manner, I tried harder. I would make the meditation object the most important thing in the world. This failed miserably.

Only when, a few weeks ago, I made the meditation object the most “interesting” thing in the world. Did my sits become enjoyable again. Interesting, as in watching your child take his first step.

    I just wanted to share.
