@peterw328 Hi, I am reading and re-reading your post:
What seems to be easy for you is kind of a challenge for me: a proper language to describe the events of the inner world.
English is not my first language, so it takes me an extra effort to learn how to properly communicate the facts of the inner world and I do not want to go into the philosophical language to do it.
You gracefully did it describing subtle sensation arising within a body part when you concentrate on it as “tick/tocks or pulses” and “vibrations (tingles, buzzes)”. And the following sentence just made my day: “Are these all somatic sensory experiences or do they also ultimately visually appear as vibrations as well”.
If you have any suggestion (books, could be literature, poetry, particular authors to read) – anything that would help me to build this ability to express phenomena of the inner world – I would very deeply appreciate your help.
Thank you and have a great day.
Gleb
Hey @ind,
Unfortunately I do not have any books on this. English was my first language so a lot of these words are commonly found in children’s books when growing up. However, The Mind Illuminated does refer to these words quite a bit, which I’m sure you’ve already read since you’re on this forum.
Another good book, the one I read before TMI was MCTB. “Mastering Core Teachings of the Buddha” by Daniel Ingram. His book goes into detail describing phenomenon that arises as a result of meditation.

Peter, thank you. Priceless.
TMI book is definitely one of those books that helped me a lot to build the language of communication.
I will jump on the book you mentioned.
Two other authors that helped me personally a lot: Gunaratana and B. Alan Wallace.
The Attention Revolution: Unlocking the Power of the Focused Mind
by B. Alan Wallace
Mindfulness in Plain English
by Bhante Henepola Gunaratana
Warmest wishes,
Gleb
Thanks I’ll add these to my to read list =)
