I’m not sure if this can help you but I’ll give it a shot anyway.

My practice is currently at the end of Stage 3 and I have trained my introspective attention to become more continuous by doing the following for quite a number of sits: holding the intention to invoke introspective attention as frequently as possible (for me this was…[Read more]

Thank you for that answer, Tod! It’s really appreciated and definitely helpful.
I’ve indeed noticed that since some weeks my attentions is stable longer than before. What I as a result interpret as a sign of progress after months of mind-wandering and forgetting.

Again, thanks very much and good luck with your own practice.

Hi all,

Currently my practice is at Stage 3. Periods of mind-wandering have almost completely stopped and I notice that introspective awareness is becoming more powerful. I also find myself better able to prolong the periods of attention to the breath.
However here’s the problem as well; very often the following occurs:

I’m going through the…[Read more]

In reply to Judith:
”I can’t tell from what you’ve written so far if this is a simple issue of misunderstanding or if you’re facing obstacles in moving your attention from focusing on sensations of the breath to conscious knowledge of thoughts arising in the mind.…[Read more]

Hi there,

A few weeks ago I have started in Stage 3. In TMI various exercises/techniques are described to achieve the goals of this Stage.
Most of the techniques are straightforward and rather easily applicable. With regards to developing introspective awareness the practice of ‘checking-in’ is described. The book states that this practice…[Read more]

Hi there,

About a month ago I have started meditating with TMI. I have made some good progress such as the mind-wandering that does not last longer than max. 10 seconds.
However what I am currently running into is a(almost daily) dullness/sleepiness/drowsiness that shows up just when I start to notice the sensations around the nostrils more…[Read more]
